ORDER REGARDING DEFENDANTS JURY SELECTION MOTIONS

Before the Court are two motions by defendant: his motion to allow one full business day to review jury questionnaires (Docket # 179); and his motion "that the Judge cease and desist from further jury selection and open up the jury process to the entire Northern District of Ohio." (Docket # 180). The government does not object to Defendant Traficant's motion for more time to review the completed juror questionnaires.

Given the number and length of the questionnaires, defendant's motion for additional time to review the questionnaires is granted. The preliminary challenges for cause hearing is re-set for Friday, 8 February 2002 at 9:00 a.m.

In its 15 January 2002 order, this Court explained that the Juror Selection Plan for the Northern District of Ohio applies to this case, as it does to all cases in the Northern District of Ohio. (Docket # 132). As this Court stated, "The juror pool for every criminal case in the Northern District of Ohio is determined in accordance with the Juror Selection Plan. Defendant Traficant, like all other criminal defendants, will have a juror pool selected through this system." (Docket # 132 at 2). Thus, the motion to "open up the jury process to the entire Northern District of Ohio" is denied.

IT IS SO ORDERED.
