United States District Court, E.D. Virginia, Alexandria Division
Mar 21, 2003
Criminal No. 01-455-A (E.D. Va. Mar. 21, 2003)

Opinion

Criminal No. 01-455-A

March 21, 2003

ORDER

Pursuant to our Orders of March 19 and 20, 2003, the United States has reconsidered its requests that the defendant's pro se pleadings docketed as #s 491, 537, 771 and 781 be maintained entirely under seal, and has proposed redactions to these pleadings. Finding that most, but not all, of the proposed redactions strike the proper balance between the public's right to access records in criminal cases and the United States' legitimate concerns about the defendant's ability to use his pleadings inappropriately to communicate with the outside world, it is hereby

ORDERED that the defendant's pro se motions docketed as #s 491, 537, 771 and 781 be and are unsealed with the indicated redactions.

The Clerk is directed to forward copies of this Order to the defendant, pro se; counsel for the United States; and standby defense counsel.
