MEMORANDUM ORDER

Because the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus filed by Raphael Regalado ("Regalado") under 28 U.S.C. § 2254 ("Section 2254") clearly failed to meet the standard established by Rule 4 of the Rules Governing Section 2254 Cases in the United States District Courts, this Court promptly issued its May 17, 2004 memorandum opinion and order dismissing the Petition and this action summarily. But this Court's current review of the original court file has revealed the existence of a few tag ends that should also be cleared up. Here they are:

1. Regalado has not paid the modest $5 filing fee required in Section 2254 actions, nor has he filed an application for leave to proceed in forma pauperis. In light of the extremely small amount involved, the latter course of action would seem unlikely — instead Regalado is ordered to pay the $5 filing fee to the Clerk of Court on or before June 1, 2004.
2. Regalado has accompanied the Petition with a motion for leave to file a supporting memorandum of law. That motion is of course granted.
3. Regalado has also filed a Motion for Appointment of Counsel. That motion is denied as moot.
