STREET RAILWAYS, § 131sufficiency of evidence of liability for death of pedestrian. In action for death of 83 year old pedestrian who was struck and fatally injured by defendants' streetcar at city street crossing, some one and one-half blocks from deceased's home, held that, under evidence, verdict for plaintiff administrator was not against manifest weight of evidence as far as matter of liability was concerned.

Appeal from the Circuit Court of Cook county; the Hon. CORNELIUS J. HARRINGTON, Judge, presiding.

Affirmed upon remittitur of $1,000 by plaintiff within ten days, in which case judgment here for plaintiff for $1,500; otherwise judgment reversed and cause remanded. Heard in the second division, first district, this court at the June term, 1943.
