On order of the Court, the application for leave to appeal from the September 17, 1999 decision of the Court of Appeals is considered, and it is GRANTED. The motion for leave to file brief amicus curiae is also considered, and it is GRANTED. The Attorney General for the State of Michigan is invited to intervene or, in the alternative, to file a brief amicus curiae. Other interested persons or groups are invited to file briefs amicus curiae on the issue of whether and how the Michigan Trailways Act, MCL 324.72101 et seq.; MSA 13A.72101 et seq., or local zoning ordinances apply to abandoned railroad corridors.
