James E. Thompson & Danielle Jenkins Petitioners v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes, Judge.

This case is on the January 25, 2021 Los Angeles, California trial calendar. The development of this case has been slow, and we spoke with the parties on June 14, 2021 about how to make progress. The case can stay on a status-report track for now, but the Court expects petitioners to complete their compliance with the IRS's informal discovery requests in the next two months. If not, it is highly likely that the Court will establish a firm deadline backed by a preclusion order. In the meantime, it is

ORDERED that on or before August 16, 2021 respondent shall file a status report to describe the parties' progress in settling the case or narrowing the issues to be tried and especially whether petitioners have completed their response to informal discovery.
