However, this does not square with the facts in the case at hand, in which Althoff and others testified that the gates were used to control access to the property, and were often kept locked, with the keys or combination available to the owners of the respective properties. ΒΆ 22 The trier of fact is in the best position to hear and weigh the testimony of witnesses, and we thus give great weight to the findings of a district court. Tacke v. Wynia (1993), 258 Mont. 405, 409, 853 P.2d 87, 91 (citation omitted). Furthermore, in determining whether the trial court's findings are supported by substantial credible evidence, we will view the evidence in the light most favorable to the prevailing party.
