BENJAMON RAY STEWART A/K/A BENJAMON TODD STEWART APPELLANT v. THE STATE OF TEXAS STATE
FROM THE 372ND DISTRICT COURT OF TARRANT COUNTY
TRIAL COURT NOS. 1336013D, 1336014D, 1336015D, 1336016D
ORDER
This order is being issued simultaneously with the opinion issued in these appeals today. After these appeals were fully briefed by appointed appellate counsel and counsel for the State, and submitted to the Court for consideration on February 17, 2016, this Court received pro se correspondence from the appellant dated April 11 and 14, 2016 and addressed to Chief Justice Livingston. In May 2016, this Court received substantially the same correspondence addressed to Chief Staff Attorney Lisa West and General Counsel Clarissa Hodges. In all of the correspondence, appellant indicates that he wishes to initiate disciplinary proceedings against his court-appointed appellate counsel, Warren St. John.
Because complaints about alleged violations of the Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct should be directed to the Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel for the State Bar of Texas, P.O. Box. 13287, Austin, Texas 78711 rather than this Court, the Court orders the additional correspondence returned to appellant unfiled.
Because the Second Court of Appeals is not the appropriate agency to investigate or prosecute grievances filed against Texas attorneys, any additional correspondence raising the same complaints will be returned unfiled.
The clerk of this Court is directed to transmit a copy of this order to the attorneys of record and appellant.
DATED June 9, 2016.
