STATE OF LOUISIANA v. GEORGE WRIGHT

In Re: George Wright, applying for supervisory writs, 19th Judicial District Court, Parish of East Baton Rouge, No. 08-14-0118. BEFORE: PETTIGREW, McDONALD AND CALLOWAY, JJ.

WRIT GRANTED IN PART AND DENIED IN PART. The records of the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk's Office reflect that on December 13, 2016, relator's trial attorney filed a motion for appeal and the district court has not ruled on the motion for appeal. This writ application is granted for the sole purpose of ordering the district court to rule on relator's motion for appeal. See La. Code Crim. P. art. 915(A). As the writ application concerns relator's request to file a supplemental pro se appellate brief, the application is denied at this time as premature. When the appeal is lodged in this Court, relator will have an opportunity to inspect the record and file a supplemental pro se brief.
