State of Minnesota v. Ali Dayib Warsame

ORDER ON PETITION FOR FURTHER REVIEW; Issues: (1) Can a defendant who was too intoxicated to remember the alleged offense enter a valid Norgaard plea to a specific intent offense when he does not waive his right to raise a voluntary intoxication defense? (2) Because Warsame's guilty plea was established through leading questions, should this Court grant and stay his petition pending its decision in State v. Jones or seek briefing on whether a “strong factual basis” for a Norgaard plea may be established exclusively by leading questions?
