STATE OF LOUISIANA v. JAMES J. SPIKES, JR.


In Re: James J. Spikes, Jr., applying for supervisory writs, 22nd Judicial District Court, Parish of Washington, No. 15-CR4-128964. BEFORE: GUIDRY, THERIOT, AND PENZATO, JJ.

WRIT DENIED. On April 11, 2018, the district court denied relator's application for postconviction relief and provided written reasons for the judgment. A copy of the judgment denying relief and written reasons for the judgment shall be furnished to the petitioner. See La. Code Crim. P. art. 930.1. In the event relator elects to seek review of the ruling on his application for postconviction relief with this court, he may do so without the necessity of obtaining a return date, and the application must be filed on or before February 22, 2019. Any future filing must include the entire contents of this application, the application for postconviction relief, the State's response, the trial court's ruling, the trial transcript, the habitual offender bill of information, any other documents from the district court record that would assist with addressing relator's claims, and a copy of this ruling.
