STATE OF LOUISIANA v. AARON MICHAEL SMITH
In Re: Aaron Michael Smith, applying for supervisory writs, 22nd Judicial District Court, Parish of St. Tammany, No. 556931. BEFORE: WHIPPLE, C.J., WELCH AND DRAKE, JJ.
WRIT DENIED IN PART AND DENIED ON THE SHOWING MADE IN PART. The granting of the request for a continuance on September 14, 2015, gave the State until September 14, 2016 to bring this misdemeanor case to trial. See La. Code Crim. P. art. 580(A). Therefore, the district court did not err by denying the motion to quash. Relator's claim regarding the objection to redacted discovery is denied on the showing made. Relator failed to include a copy of the discovery at issue, the transcripts of the motion hearing and the misdemeanor trial, and any other pertinent documents from the district court record that might support this claim.
