STATE of Wisconsin, Plaintiff–Respondent, v. Matthew Allen LILEK, Defendant–Appellant.

At the start of the plea hearing, Kohn identified Pendergast as “our intern, Sam Pendergast.” We continue with material excerpts from the plea-hearing transcript: As noted, “Sam” is an “intern” in the office of Lilek's trial lawyer. There is no indication in the Record that Sam is a lawyer. We return to the plea-hearing colloquy:
