STATE OF LOUISIANA v. RICHARD LAY

In Re: Richard Lay, applying for supervisory writs, 22nd Judicial District Court, Parish of Washington, No. 11-CR5-112033. BEFORE: WHIPPLE, C.J., McDONALD AND CHUTZ, JJ.

WRIT GRANTED. The district court is instructed to proceed toward disposition of relator's application for postconviction relief, filed in January 2016, if it has not already done so. According to information provided to this court, the district court acted on relator's application on March 29, 2016. However, on August 12, 2016, the court set aside its ruling. On May 1, 2017, this court granted a writ application filed by relator for the sole purpose of transferring to the district court for consideration of the merits of relator's application for postconviction relief. See 2017 KW 0207.
