Mark C. Smith, State Appellate Defender, and Robert P. Ranschau, Assistant State Appellate Defender, for appellant. Thomas J. Miller, Attorney General, Bridget A. Chambers, Assistant Attorney General, Michael J. Walton, County Attorney, and Kelly Cunningham, Assistant County Attorney, for appellee.
Considered by VOGEL, P.J., and DANILSON and MULLINS, JJ.

DANILSON, J.

The defendant, Kenneth Gene Hanan, pled guilty to the offense of willful injury causing bodily injury. On appeal, he contends the district court abused its discretion by imposing a five-year sentence. The district court entered judgment upon the convictions, imposed a sentence within the statutory limits, and stated adequate reasons therefore. See State v. Formaro, 638 N.W.2d 720, 724–25 (Iowa 2002). Before the instant sentencing, Hanan developed a lengthy criminal record including numerous offenses of a violent nature. Finding no abuse of discretion, we affirm. SeeIowa R.App. P. 6.1203(d).

AFFIRMED.
