    This subsection of the statute provides an independent basis for the termination of a parent's rights. See Nash-Putnam v. McCloud, 921 S.W.2d 170, 176 (Tenn. 1996) and State v. Galvin, No. 03A01-9807-CV-00233, 1999 Tenn. App. LEXIS 257 AT *16 (April 16, 1999). [Father's] parental rights should be terminated on the basis of this statute.

    In this case, the mother was determined to have committed severe child abuse against JWR under a now final Order entered by the Juvenile Court Referee. This found abuse satisfies the requirements of the Statute. See State v. Galvin, #03A019807-CV-00233 (Tenn.Ct.App. Eastern Section, April 16, 1999). Moreover, the mother's testimony established grounds for termination.
