The petition by the state of Connecticut for certification for appeal from the Appellate Court, 75 Conn. App. 304 (AC 21594), is granted, limited to the following issues:

"1. (a) Did the Appellate Court properly conclude that the trial court violated the defendant's federal constitutional right by permitting the state to impeach him by his postarrest silence and request for an attorney?

"(b) If the answer to question 1 (a) is `yes,' was the error harmless?

"2. (a) Did the Appellate Court properly conclude that the trial court improperly admitted hearsay statements by the witness David Levarge?

"(b) If the answer to question 2 (a) is `yes,' was the error harmless?"

The Supreme Court docket number is SC 17019.
