STATE OF LOUISIANA v. JESSIE BELL, JR.


In Re: Jessie Bell, Jr., applying for supervisory writs, 17th Judicial District Court, Parish of Lafourche, Nos. 433703 & 477549. BEFORE: WHIPPLE, C.J., McCLENDON AND HIGGINBOTHAM, JJ.

WRIT DENIED. The court minutes from January 9, 2018 show that the court ordered that relator be awarded credit for time served pursuant to La. Code Crim. P. art. 880. The record of the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court shows the court minutes were forwarded to the Department of Public Safety and Corrections on March 26, 2018. Suits by prisoners committed to the custody of the Department of Public Safety and Corrections contesting the computation of their sentence must be filed in the parish of East Baton Rouge under the provisions of La. R.S. 15:571.15.
