Appeal from the County Court at Law No. 7 of El Paso County, Texas (TC# 2012-DCV06341) ORDER
Pending before the Court is Appellant's motion asking that the Court stay a contempt order until this appeal is resolved. Appellant indicates in her motion that she intends to challenge the contempt order in this appeal, but a contempt order cannot be challenged by direct appeal. Appellant also argues that she will not be able to prosecute her appeal while she is in jail. The reporter's record is currently due to be filed on February 29, 2016, and Appellant's brief will not be due until thirty days after the reporter's record is filed. Further, the Rules of Appellate Procedure permit a party to request an extension of time in which to file the brief. Appellant's motion for emergency relief is denied.
IT IS SO ORDERED this 10th day of February, 2016.
PER CURIAM Before McClure, C.J., Rodriguez, and Hughes, JJ.
