Joseph SEGURA v. Erika Kristen SEGURA.

Opinion

In re Segura, Erika Kristen;—Defendant; Applying For Writ of Certiorari and/or Review, Parish of St. Tammany, 22nd Judicial District Court Div. K, No. 2012–12221; to the Court of Appeal, First Circuit, No. 2014 CU 0254.

Denied.

HUGHES, J., would grant. The involvement of Dr. Clark and Dr. Thompson in this case was court-ordered. Their input is not to help one side or the other to “win the case,” but rather to assist in determining the best interests of the child. The trial court is always free to accept or reject expert testimony, but failure to even consider these court-appointed experts undercuts confidence in the result.
