Probate Court No. 3 of Harris County Trial court case number: 442,669

ORDER OF ABATEMENT

VERONICA RIVAS-MOLLOY, JUDGE

On August 26, 2024, Appellants Detective George Schilter, Independent Executor of the Estate of Kathrin Gvadia, Deceased, and Shriners Hospitals for Children, filed an unopposed Motion to Abate Appeal Pending Settlement, stating that "the parties have settled their dispute" and requesting this Court "to abate this appeal for 30 days" "[t]o allow the parties time to finalize their settlement without the risk of waiving their rights to appeal . . . ."

We grant Appellants' motion. This appeal is therefore abated, treated as a closed case, and removed from the Court's active docket.

On or before September 30, 2024, Appellants are ORDERED to file a motion to reinstate and dismiss the appeal, a motion to reinstate and proceed with the appeal, or a report advising the Court of the status of the proceedings. If Appellants do not respond as directed, the case may be reinstated on the Court's active docket and the appeal will proceed under the applicable Texas Rules of Appellate Procedure.

It is so ORDERED.
