PAUL G. SCHIFINO & JOLI L. BUSCH, Petitioners v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

L. Paige Marvel Judge

On March 29, 2024, the parties filed a Joint Status Report. In the report the parties state, among other things, that they believe they have a mutually agreeable basis for settlement. Respondent's counsel has engaged in a lengthy dialogue with respondent's subject-matter experts, who have concurred that the terms of the parties' contemplated settlement agreement appear to be legally and technically tenable. On March 28, 2024, respondent's counsel spoke with petitioners' counsel and agreed to a plan that may enable the parties to settle the remaining issues in this case. The parties' counsel will endeavor to obtain formal approval from their respective clients for the contemplated settlement agreement, and, if approved, will draft and execute a stipulation that resolves the remaining issues in this case. The parties request additional time of ninety (90) days to file a decision document or status report. Upon due consideration, it is

ORDERED that on or before July 1, 2024, the parties shall file a proposed stipulated decision or a joint report regarding the then-present status of this case.
