ELECTIONS, § 243contempt proceedings, judge interested in election. — In contempt proceedings against election officials, county judge who was a candidate at the primary election erred in not assigning the cause to a disinterested judge, and sentence of one year in jail and fine of $500 for one judge, $500 fines for the other judges, and $250 fines for the clerks, constituted excessive punishment.

Appeal from County Court of Cook county; Hon. EDMUND K. JARECKI, presiding.

Reversed and remanded with directions. Heard in third division, first district, this court at October term, 1940.
