Appeal From the 54th District Court, McLennan County, Texas, Trial Court # 1998-807-C. Dismissed for want of jurisdiction.

Before Chief Justice GRAY, Justice VANCE, and Justice REYNA.

MEMORANDUM Opinion

Richard R. Reyes, Sr. appeals from the trial court's December 1, 2004, denial of his request for medical records. We sent a letter to Reyes on February 8, 2005, stating that the appeal is subject to dismissal for want of jurisdiction. No response has been received. This court has jurisdiction in a criminal case only when expressly provided by law. See Kelly v. State, 151 S.W.3d 683, 686-87 (Tex.App.-Waco 2004, no pet.); Ex parte McGregor, 145 S.W.3d 824, 825 (Tex.App.-Dallas 2004, no pet.); Sanchez v. State, 112 S.W.3d 311, 311 (Tex.App.-Corpus Christi 2003, no pet.) (per curiam); Everett v. State, 82 S.W.3d 735, 735 (Tex.App.-Waco 2002, pet. dism'd). No statute vests this court with jurisdiction over an appeal from an order merely denying a request for medical records. Accordingly, we dismiss this appeal for want of jurisdiction. (Chief Justice Gray concurs without a separate opinion).
