CHRISTOPHER GERARD PRUITT, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appellee

On Appeal from the 282nd Judicial District Court Dallas County, Texas
Trial Court Cause Nos. F18-55426-S & F18-55425-S

ORDER

The reporter's record was due April 4, 2020. Before the Court is the court reporter Lisa Jackson's June 22, 2020 third request for additional time to file the reporter's record. In the request, Ms. Jackson states the transcript portion of the reporter's record is complete; however, the exhibits are in an exhibit locker at the Crowley Courthouse Building and she has been "instructed not to return to the courthouse for any reason until it is clear for all" to do so. She asks for an extension of time "until this pandemic is over."

Rule 35.3(c) provides that we may grant an extension of time for filing the reporter's record that "must not exceed 30 days" in a regular appeal. We GRANT the request to the extent we ORDER the reporter's record filed by July 22, 2020. We caution Ms. Jackson that the failure to file the reporter's record by that time may result in the Court abating the appeal for a hearing or taking whatever other remedies are available to ensure the reporter's record is filed and these appeals proceed in a timely manner.

We DIRECT the Clerk to send copies of this order to the Honorable Amber Givens, Presiding Judge, 282nd Judicial District Court; to Lisa Jackson, court reporter; and to counsel for all parties.

/s/ ROBERT D. BURNS, III

CHIEF JUSTICE
