Valerie J. Price Petitioner v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent

ORDER

Mark V. Holmes Judge

This case was on the Court's May 24, 2021 trial calendar for New York City. In it, Ms. Price seeks innocent-spouse relief from a joint tax liability that she currently shares with her ex. The IRS office whose purpose is to try to settle cases - IRS Appeals - didn't have a meaningful chance to discuss this case with Ms. Price because the administrative file in the case didn't make its way there in time. Respondent reported that the file has now been found and received by the correcct Appeals Office. Ms. Price will get a consideration on the merits this time, and it is therefore

ORDERED that respondent file another status report on or before March 16, 2022 to describe the parties' progress toward settlement at IRS Appeals. If the case hasn't settled by then, respondent should estimate when the Appeals Office's work on it will be done.
