ORDER
This matter comes before the Court on the Plaintiffs, Jennifer Franklin Prescott and Dr. Jorge Busse's Motion to Extend Time for Service (Doc. #122) filed on March 29, 2010. District courts have broad discretion in managing their cases. Chrysler Int'l Corp. v. Chenaly, 280 F.3d 1358, 1360 (11th Cir. 2002). The broad discretion given to the court includes the management of pretrial activities such as discovery and scheduling. Id. (citing Johnson v. Bd. of Regents of Univ. Georgia, 263 F.3d 1234, 1269 (11th Cir. 2001).
An extension of time to effect service may be granted for good cause. Fed.R.Civ.P. 4(m). As grounds, the Plaintiffs simply state that Sheriff Mike Scott stated that he was not a defendant in this case. However, the Plaintiffs fail to state why Scott or any other potential defendants were not served in a timely manner. Thus, the Plaintiff has failed to demonstrate the necessary good cause to grant the extension of time.
Accordingly, it is now
ORDERED:
The Plaintiffs, Jennifer Franklin Prescott and Dr. Jorge Busse's Motion to Extend Time for Service (Doc. #122) is DENIED. DONE AND ORDERED at Fort Myers, Florida.
