Patrick Plant & Rebecca Plant Petitioners v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue Respondent
ORDER
Emin Toro, Judge
On March 17, 2020, the trial session scheduled to begin in Houston, Texas, on April 20, 2020, was canceled due to concerns related to COVID-19, and this case was assigned to the undersigned judge. On September 22, 2021, the parties filed a Joint Status Report (Doc. 28) and a Second Stipulation of Settled Issues (Doc. 29). The parties request additional time to permit respondent's counsel to review documentation.
In view of the progress made by the parties and the nature of the remaining items in dispute, the Court is willing to give the parties additional time to review documentation. But, because the undersigned judge is scheduled to preside over the Court's January 24, 2022, Houston, Texas, in-person trial session, and believes it to be in the interest of judicial economy to preside over a trial in this case should one be necessary, the case will also be added to the trial session in Houston, Texas, beginning on January 24, 2022. Upon due consideration, it is hereby
ORDERED that, this case is calendared for trial during the Court's January 24, 2022, Houston, Texas, in-person trial session scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. Central Time in Room 7006, 7th Floor, Casey U.S. Courthouse, 515 Rusk Street, Houston, Texas 77002. It is further
ORDERED that the Clerk of the Court shall serve on the parties the Court's Standing Pretrial Order for the January 24, 2022, Houston, Texas, trial session. It is further
ORDERED that, on or before November 29, 2021, the parties shall file with the Court either a joint report (or, if that is not expedient, then separate reports) describing the status of the case or a stipulated decision document.
This Order constitutes official notice of its contents to the parties.
