EDWARD JOSEPH PIETERSZ, Appellant v. THE STATE OF TEXAS, Appelle
DISMISS; Opinion issued February 23, 2012
On Appeal from the 296th Judicial District Court
Collin County, Texas
Trial Court Cause No. 429-81272-09
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Before Justices Bridges, FitzGerald, and Lang
Opinion By Justice Bridges
Edward Joseph Pietersz pleaded guilty to injury to the offense of injury to a child resulting in serious bodily injury. The plea was in exchange for an agreement that the punishment to be imposed would be capped at forty-five years' imprisonment. See Shankle v. State, 119 S.W.3d 808, 813 (Tex. Crim. App. 2003) (identifying agreement to cap punishment as plea bargain). The trial court's certification, which states the case involves a plea bargain and appellant has no right to appeal, is supported by the documents before the Court. See Tex. R. App. P. 25.2(d); See Dears v. State, 154 S.W.3d 610, 614-15 (Tex. Crim. App. 2005).
We dismiss the appeal for want of jurisdiction.
