ON APPEAL FROM THE 117TH DISTRICT COURT OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS

Before Benavides, Tijerina, and Silva Justices.

ORDER

PER CURIAM

This cause is before the Court on appellant's failure to file appellant's brief. Appellant's brief was originally due on November 27, 2023. After three previous extensions, appellant's brief was due to be filed on April 11, 2024. On May 29, 2024, an Order was issued, and appellant was provided additional time to file a brief making appellant's brief due on or before June 5, 2024.

Appellant's counsel failed to timely file the brief. The Court looks with disfavor upon appellant's counsel's disregarding of its Order. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that the Honorable Gabi S. Canales, counsel for appellant, file an appellate brief with this Court instanter.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Honorable Gabi S. Canales shall appear IN PERSON on June 12, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Thirteenth Court of Appeals, located at the Nueces County Courthouse, 901 Leopard Street, 10th Floor in Corpus Christi, Texas, to show cause why she should not be held in contempt of court for failing to file appellant's brief.
