ON APPEAL FROM THE 117TH DISTRICT COURT OF NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS

Before Justices Benavides, Tijerina, and Silva

ORDER PER CURIAM

PER CURIAM

ORDER TO FILE APPELLANT'S BRIEF

This cause is before the Court on appellant's failure to file a brief. Appellant's brief was originally due on November 27, 2023. After three previous extensions, appellant's brief was due to be filed on April 11, 2024.

The Court, having fully examined and considered the extensions previously granted and appellant's counsel's continued failure to file a brief, is of the opinion that the cause should be reinstated, and the appellate brief should be ordered due. IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that this cause be reinstated and the Honorable Gabbie S. Canales, counsel for appellant, is ordered to file appellant's brief with this Court on or before 5:00 p.m. on June 5, 2024. Failure to file the brief as ordered shall result in a show cause hearing to be set and the Honorable Gabbie S. Canales shall be ordered to appear in person to show cause why she should not be found in contempt of this Court's current and previous orders to file the brief.
