Cong T. Phan & Tien Thai, Petitioners v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue, Respondent

ORDER

Diana L. Leyden Special Trial Judge.

On May 13, 2021, respondent filed a Status Report in this case. Respondent informed the Court that the Settlement Officer assigned to this case would conduct a supplemental hearing in the coming weeks and then the IRS would issue a supplementary notice of determination to petitioners. Respondent further noted in his May 13, 2021, Status Report that "[b]ecause of Mr. Phan's difficulty understanding English, respondent could not determine whether petitioners agree with this status report." Upon due consideration and for cause, it is

ORDERED that, on or before June 25, 2021, respondent shall file a status report informing the Court of the then-present status of the case. It is further

ORDERED that respondent provide a Vietnamese interpreter for the petitioners given the language barriers to determine their consent to the status report.
