    In People v. Veach, 2017 IL 120649, ¶ 48, our supreme court held that a reviewing court "should carefully consider each ineffective assistance of counsel claim on a case-by-case basis" to determine whether the claim is conducive to review on direct appeal.

    ¶ 37 We note that since the appellate court reached its decision in this case, our appellate court has repeatedly applied this novel three-part classification of ineffective assistance of counsel claims.
