Attorney Regulation. The Presiding Disciplinary Judge accepted the parties' Conditional Admission of Misconduct and disbarred Respondent William C. Stanek in this reciprocal discipline matter from the State of Nebraska where Respondent voluntarily consented to the entry of an order of disbarment. Respondent endorsed settlement checks with his client's name without the client's authorization, used the proceeds from the checks for his own benefit, and failed to inform the client that he had done so until after he utilized the funds in one case, and in the other, Respondent failed to inform the client that he had settled the case, received the settlement funds and utilized them for his own benefit. Respondent's conduct violated Colo. RPC 8.4(c), Colo. RPC 8.4(d), Colo. RPC 8.4(h) and Colo. RPC 1.15(a) and 1.15(b). Respondent was ordered to pay the costs of the proceeding.
