THE PEOPLE, Plaintiff and Respondent, v. WILLIAM ANTHONY RICKS, Defendant and Appellant.
Linda Acaldo, under appointment by the Court of Appeal, for Defendant and Appellant. No appearance for Plaintiff and Respondent.
On January 8, 2003, William Anthony Ricks (defendant), represented by counsel, was found guilty by a jury of violating Penal Code sections 12021 and 12316 (possession of a firearm with a prior felony conviction, and possession of ammunition), as charged in counts 1 and 2 of the information filed by the Riverside County District Attorney.
In a separate earlier proceeding, defendant waived his right to a jury trial and admitted his prior conviction of a violation of Health and Safety Code section 11352.
Thereafter, defendant was committed to state prison for two years and awarded the appropriate custody credits.
Defendant appealed and upon his request, this court appointed counsel to represent him. Counsel has filed a brief under the authority of People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436, 158 Cal. Rptr. 839, 600 P.2d 1071 and Anders v. California (1967) 386 U.S. 738 [87 S. Ct. 1396, 18 L. Ed. 2d 493], setting forth a statement of the case, a summary of the facts, and requesting this court to undertake a review of the entire record.
We offered defendant an opportunity to file a personal supplemental brief, which he has not done.
We have now concluded our independent review of the record and find no arguable issues.
The judgment is affirmed.
We concur: McKINSTER, J., RICHLI, J.
