The People of the State of New York, Respondent, v. Juan F. Ramos, Defendant-Appellant.


An order of this Court having been entered on July 28, 2016 (M-1362), inter alia, granting defendant leave to prosecute, as a poor person, the appeal from the judgment of the Supreme Court, New York County, rendered on or about May 6, 2015, and assigning Robert S. Dean, Esq., Center of Appellate Litigation, as counsel to prosecute the appeal, And defendant-appellant, through retained counsel Goldstein & Weinstein, having moved to relieve assigned counsel and to substitute David J. Goldstein, Esq., as counsel on the aforesaid appeal, and for an enlargement of time to perfect the appeal, Now, upon reading and filing the papers with respect to the motion, and due deliberation having been had thereon,It is ordered that the motion is granted to the extent of relieving Robert S. Dean, Esq., Center of Appellate Litigation, as assigned counsel on the appeal, and enlarging the time to perfect the appeal to the November 2017 Term. The motion, to the extent it seeks substitution of retained counsel, is denied as unnecessary.
