People of Michigan v. Christopher Adam Lake

LC No. 20-000557-FC

ORDER

Michael F. Gadola, Chief Judge Pro Tem, acting under MCR 7.211(E)(2), orders:

The motion to extend time to file appellant's brief is GRANTED until June 8, 2022.

The Court notes that, if appellant's brief is timely filed by June 8, 2022, there would be no forfeiture of oral argument under MCR 7.212(A)(4) as the brief would not be untimely. Thus, appellant does not need to file a separate motion to preserve oral argument if the appellant's brief is timely filed pursuant to this order. Rather, if desired, appellant may preserve oral argument by including an appropriate statement requesting oral argument on the title page of the appellant's brief if it is timely filed. See MCR 7.214(A).
