Subsequently, Petitioner filed an application for leave to appeal to the Michigan Supreme Court, which was denied on February 27, 1998. People v. Kindred, No. 109345 (Mich. Feb. 27, 1998). On April 25, 2002, Petitioner filed a motion for relief from judgment in the trial court, claiming ineffective assistance of trial counsel.
