APPEAL from a judgment of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County No. KA077806, Charles E. Horan, Judge.
John P. Dwyer, under appointment by the Court of Appeal, and Law Offices of John P. Dwyer for Defendant and Appellant.
No appearance for Plaintiff and Respondent.
MALLANO, P. J.
Johnny Jaramillo was convicted by jury of two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted premeditated murder, with further findings that he personally and intentionally used a firearm causing death or great bodily injury and that the offenses were committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang. The convictions arose from three separate incidents in Los Angeles County: On March 25, 2006, defendant, a member of the Bassett gang, shot and killed a man at a house party; on April 15, 2006, defendant fired from a moving vehicle and killed the driver of another vehicle; and on May 7, 2006, defendant again fired from a moving vehicle and hit an occupant of another vehicle. Defendant was sentenced to consecutive terms of 50 years to life for murder and life plus 20 years for attempted murder.
Defendant filed a timely notice of appeal and we appointed counsel to represent him. Counsel filed an opening brief in which no issues were raised. (People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436, 441–442.) We then sent letters to defendant and to appointed counsel, directing counsel to immediately forward the appellate record to defendant and notifying defendant that within 30 days she could personally submit any contentions or issues that she wished us to consider. To date, no response has been received.
We have examined the entire record and are satisfied that defendant’s counsel has fully complied with his responsibilities and that no arguable issues exist. (People v. Kelly (2006) 40 Cal.4th 106, 109–110; People v. Wende, supra, 25 Cal.3d at p. 441.)
DISPOSITION
The judgment is affirmed.
We concur: ROTHSCHILD, J., MILLER, J.
Judge of the Los Angeles Superior Court assigned by the Chief Justice pursuant to article VI, section 6 of the California Constitution.
