People of Michigan v. Shamara Latrica James

LC No. 16-006751-SM

ORDER

Elizabeth L. Gleicher, Chief Judge, acting under MCR 7.203(F)(1), orders: The motion to waive fees is GRANTED for this case only.

The application for leave to appeal is DISMISSED for lack of jurisdiction because defendant is attempting to appeal an order from the 52-3 District Court. This Court does not have jurisdiction to grant leave to appeal from a district court order, MCR 7.203(B). A circuit court generally has jurisdiction over applications for leave to appeal from a judgment of a district court when no appeal of right exists. MCR 7.103(B)(1)(a).
