MANDAMUS, § 57when holding of promotional examination is within discretion of civil service commission. In mandamus suit to compel civil service commission to hold promotional examination for the position of "engineer custodian" of the board of education, held, under the circumstances, that question of holding promotional examination was matter within discretion of commission (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1941, ch. 24 1/2, par. 47; Jones Ill. State. Ann. 23.048).

Appeal from Circuit Court of Cook county; Hon. JOHN PRYSTALSKI, presiding.

Affirmed. Heard in first division, first district, this court at October term, 1942.
