APPEAL from a judgment of the Superior Court of Los Angeles County No. BA324227, Maral Injejikian, Judge.
Law Office of Patrick Morgan Ford and Patrick Morgan Ford, under appointment by the Court of Appeal, for Defendant and Appellant.
No appearance for Plaintiff and Respondent.
KRIEGLER, J.
Defendant and appellant Frank Gallardo entered a plea of no contest to a charge of robbery (Pen. Code, § 211) and admitted serving a prior prison term (Pen. Code, § 667.5, subd. (b)), pursuant to a plea bargain resulting in a four-year state prison commitment. Defendant filed a notice of appeal and obtained a certificate of probable cause from the trial court alleging he was incompetent at the time of his plea and admission.
We appointed counsel to represent defendant on appeal. On March 26, 2008, appellate counsel filed a brief pursuant to People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436, raising no issues but asking this court to independently review the record for arguable appellate issues. Defendant was advised by letter, dated March 26, 2008, that he could submit a letter brief to this court within 30 days containing issues he wishes the court to consider.
Defendant has not filed a letter brief with this court. We have independently reviewed the record and find no arguable appellate issues. (Smith v. Robbins (2000) 528 U.S. 259, 278-279; People v. Wende, supra, 25 Cal.3d at pp. 441-442.)
The judgment is affirmed.
