ORDER

The motion for immediate consideration is GRANTED.

The motion to expedite is GRANTED. The Court accepts the brief filed on February 1, 2022 as the appellant's brief. Appellee has advised that it will not be filing an appellee brief. The Clerk of the Court has submitted the matter on the case call before this panel for decision on the brief without oral argument.

Pursuant to MCR 7.216(A)(7), the Court VACATES the January 13, 2022 and January 24, 2022 orders of the Oakland Circuit Court. Defendant was convicted of criminal contempt without an adequate hearing, without the opportunity for defense counsel to address the allegations, and with the imposition of excessive bail. The Court directs that defendant is to be released immediately from jail.

This order is to have immediate effect, MCR 7.215(F)(2). The Court retains no further jurisdiction. This appeal is concluded.
