PEOPLE of the State of Michigan, Plaintiff-Appellee, v. Ryan Ray DEWEERD, Defendant-Appellant.


Order

By order of November 2, 2021, the prosecuting attorney was directed to answer the application for leave to appeal the March 11, 2021 judgment of the Court of Appeals. On order of the Court, the answer having been received, the application for leave to appeal is again considered, and it is GRANTED. The parties shall include among the issues to be briefed whether a defendant who has generally disavowed knowledge of unlawful activity should be considered to have "interfered with or attempted to interfere with the administration of justice ...." MCL 777.49(c). The time allowed for oral argument shall be 20 minutes for each side. MCR 7.314(B)(1).

The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan and the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan are invited to file briefs amicus curiae. Other persons or groups interested in the determination of the issue presented in this case may move the Court for permission to file briefs amicus curiae.
