In lieu of granting leave to appeal, the order of the Court of Appeals entered September 17, 1997, is vacated, and the case is remanded for an appeal of right because the trial court did not attempt to extend the time for filing a claim of appeal when it entered an order denying the defendant's motion for a new trial. MCR 7.302(F)(1).
