Stay order filed
The “Request for Stay of Execution and an Order Vacating the Hearing Scheduled in the Stanislaus County Superior Court for Purposes of Setting the Date and Time of Execution,” filed on July 3, 2019, is granted. Execution of the judgment of death entered against Michael Leon Bell by the Superior Court of Stanislaus County (No. 133269) and affirmed by this court on May 2, 2019, (People v. Bell (2019) 7 Cal.5th 70), is hereby stayed pending the later of (1) the final determination of any timely filed petition for writ of certiorari in the United States Supreme Court and (2) the final determination of the petition for writ of habeas corpus pending in this court (S229111).
