Petitioner filed an application for leave to appeal in the Michigan Supreme Court, raising the same claims raised in the Michigan Court of Appeals. The application was denied. People v. On January 24, 2012, Petitioner filed a motion for relief from judgment in the trial court raising these claims: (i) denied right to public trial; (ii) denied effective counsel at preliminary examination; (iii) Double Jeopardy Clause violated; (iv) multiple charges unfairly joined; (v) ineffective assistance of appellate counsel; and (vi) sentence was based upon inaccurate information.
