ORDER

Michael F. Gadola, Chief Judge Pro Tem, acting under MCR 7.211(E)(2), orders:

On the Court's own motion, in light of the death of defendant-appellant's counsel, these cases are REMANDED to the trial court for appointment of substitute appellate counsel within 21 days after the date of this order. The same substitute counsel shall be appointed for each case. The trial court shall send a copy of the order(s) appointing substitute counsel to the Clerk of this Court within seven days after entry.

Within 56 days after appointment substitute counsel shall file brief(s) in support of the applications for leave to appeal addressing the issues specified in this Court's October 19, 2023 orders. Substitute counsel may also raise any other issue that he or she determines appropriate. In this regard, substitute counsel may file a single brief for all of these appeals or separate briefs for each appeal.
