OFFICERS AND PUBLIC EMPLOYEES, § 145salary reduction, estoppel. In action against park district to recover balance of salary due super. intendent of employment, laches was a good defense where plaintiff accepted reduced salary from July 1, 1932, to April 30, 1933, park commissioners went out of existence May 1, 1934, with no claim made, and suit was not commenced against successor park district until June 30, 1937; and estoppel was shown, where plaintiff voted in favor of resolution to reduce salaries, he carried resolution into effect, and accepted checks which stated they were for payment of salary in full.

Appeal from Superior Court of Cook county; Hon. FRANCIS B. ALLEGRETTI, presiding.

Reversed. Heard in second division, first district, this court at February term, 1940.
