MINALKUMAR PATEL, Petitioner v. COMMISSIONER OF INTERNAL REVENUE, Respondent

ORDER

Patrick J. Urda Judge

This case is currently calendared on the Court's Atlanta, Georgia, trial session, scheduled to begin September 12, 2022. On August 22, 2022, petitioner, Minalkumar Patel, filed an unopposed motion for continuance.

In the motion petitioner explained that there is an ongoing criminal case with significant factual overlap with this case. Petitioner thus requests that we continue the case from the September 12, 2022, trial calendar to avoid prejudicing the criminal case and give the parties to this case time to discuss settlement. Petitioner further requests that the Court order status reports every six months while the criminal case is pending. Upon due consideration, we will grant the motion. It is therefore

ORDERED that petitioner's motion for continuance is granted, and this case is continued from the above-referenced trial session. It is further

ORDERED that jurisdiction is retained by the undersigned. It is further

ORDERED that the parties shall file a joint status report every six months, beginning with February 23, 2023, advising as to the then-present status of this case and petitioner's ongoing criminal case.
